Alma Egeskov (b. 2001, Denmark) is a New York based artist. In her photographic work, Egeskov isolates moments that exist in the space between the interior and exterior, exploring tension and underlying dynamics. Her four sisters are central subjects in her work, fueling the female characters in the photos, sometimes portraying themselves, and other times existing only as female archetypes. Mimicking cinematic structures, Egeskov’s work focuses on narrative and a moving presence within the still photograph.
Egeskov’s recent exhibitions include Between Us (with Ena Boskovic), 526 W 26th St, Room 207, New York, USA (2024), Correspondence: circulation, collaboration, community, Baxter St CCNY, New York, USA (2024), and Shared Spaces, International Center of Photography, New York, USA (2024).
